MEN constitutes a stable collaboration network for a space “cross border” of training and employment, thanks to a composite and transversal partnership. This cross-border character can in fact be achieved exclusively with the cooperation between Italian and Maltese players in training, guidance and accompaniment to work and the labor market, in addition to the direction of the relevant political institutions. With its partnership, MEN also contributes to increasing the sense of social cohesion and ease of professional movement in a wide and varied geographical context, yet incredibly close, given the small distance between Sicily and Malta, strategic islands in the center of the Mediterranean .
In addition to the political orientation endorsed by the Italian and Maltese governments, the project specifically made use of the approval of the Sicilian Region and the direct involvement of the Municipality of Acireale (CT), together with the collaboration of the Sicilian and Maltese employment centres, of schools, higher technical institutes, agencies, associations and private organizations in the labor market. A network thus devoted to work mobility to be increasingly developed between the two islands, mainly in the sectors of environmental protection, sustainable tourism, blue economy, quality of life and citizens' health. The project was particularly developed and coordinated by the Terre di Aci Local Action Group, with the collaboration of the Steve Jobs Technical Institute, the Catania Technical Institute for Mobility and Transport, the Archimede Syracuse Higher Technical Institute and ITACA, a company specialized in mobility of students and workers.
